MightyGoods.com is my new favorite blog. It’s a shopping blog. About cool things to buy. The only bad part about this blog is that I didn’t think of it first. Or rather, that I didn’t have the time, courage, or general wherewithall (huh?) to do it first, since I’m fairly certain I thought of something like this quite a while ago. My dream was to get all kinds of awesome freebies from people in exchange for featuring their items on my shopping blog. Oh well. It’s been done now. How horrible must it be, though, to have to look for cool things to post about, which you cannot possibly afford. Soul-crushing, I think. I guess this is the part where I write: (via TMN).
Oh my God. When did Douglas Coupland become a balding, grey-bearded old man?. Anyway, he’s coming to Chicago in February to promote his new book, and I will examine this in person. Last time I tried to see him in person, some dudes blew up some buildings in New York. Let’s just hope my premature midlife crisis will be the worst thing to come out of this attempt.
What have I been up do? Not a whole lot. Not blogging, either, though. Sorry to the one reader I have left.
I have all 5 bridesmaids lined up for the wedding, which is somewhat of a relief, as no one else can say “no” now. Other than that, we have made no progress, except for finding a potential officiant. Not that we’ve met her or anything, but we have researched her church (United Church of Christ) online, and we think it is something we can live with, at least for the short term.
Jason and I bought presents for two kids through the “Letters to Santa” program. Before you start to think that I’m less self-involved than I seem from this blog, you should know that I spent more on booze this weekend than I did on this charitable program. Don’t worry, though, I did make myself sick, so I think God has already had his vengeance.
I’ve been meaning to call a potential officiant, who was recommended to me by a coworker. I keep getting distracted by planning the Honeymoon, though. Expedia.com has an 8-night hotel/airfare deal to Tahiti for $1500 per person. Nice. I want to book it now, but we are going to go to a travel agent to see if we can get a better deal, but we can’t go to the travel agent until we have an officiant and a dj, because, otherwise, we’ll have a whole honeymoon planned, and the actual wedding part will be thrown to the wayside. Bah.
Another reject in the pile of potential wedding readings:
Extracts from Adam’s Diary” by Mark Twain.
So funny: MONDAY.–This new creature with the long hair is a good deal in the way. It is always hanging around and following me about. I don’t like this; I am not used to company. I wish it would stay with the other animals. . . . Cloudy today, wind in the east; think we shall have rain. . . . WE? Where did I get that word– the new creature uses it.
