Believe it or not, I was actually going to blog from my vacation. But then, it turns out I forgot to update my billing information for this site, and the whole thing got hosed for an entire week. Oh well. Lessons learned in South America:

1. On a 4×4 jungle tour, do not choose a seat in front of that retired couple from New York. “Waaaat? Waaaat? I ceeaynt undahstaaaand hiiim!”

2. Just because you can watch an entire episode of the Spanish-language version of “Deal or No Deal?” (called “Vas o No Vas?” in Spanish) doesn’t mean that you actually understand Spanish. It turns out, that show is not particularly hard to understand in any language.

3. Don’t feed the coaties.
